【摘要】:Chlorideispresentinvirtuallyalloilfieldbrines,seawaters,andmanywastewaters.Identificationoftheoriginofthewaterandselectionofitsdisposalmethodmaybebaseduponthechloridecontent.Thechloridecontentisalsousedtoestimatetheresistivityofformationwatersandtodifferentiatebetweensubsurfaceformations.1.1Thistestmethodisapplicabletothemeasurementofchlorideinhighlymineralizedwaterssuchasoilfieldbrines,seawater,andbrackishwater.Thetestmethodisbaseduponthetitrationofchloridewithsilvernitrate,usingavisualindicator.1.2Samplescontainingfrom10to150mgofchloridecanbeanalyzedbythistestmethod.Theselevelsareachievedbydilutionasdescribedinthetestmethod.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Itistheuser''sresponsibilitytoassurethevalidityofthemethodforuntestedtypesofwater.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
