【摘要】:Thistestmethodisanimportantpartofthefinalphaseofstudyinthedevelopmentofmosquitorepellentsforpersonaluse.Thistestmethodisprimarilydesignedtosimulateasituationinwhichapersontreatedwitharepellentisexposedtonaturalpopulationsofattackingmosquitoes.Thesimplicityofthetestoffersflexibilityunderarelativelywiderangeofcircumstancesandgeographicallocations.Byfollowingthistestmethod,internationaltestingwithavarietyofvectormosquitopopulationsisnomoredifficulttoaccomplishthantestswithvariousdomesticspecies.Anumberofpeopletesttopicalapplicationsofarepellentforthefollowingreasons:4.4.1Todeterminehowlongtherepellentiseffective;4.4.2Toestablishtheeffectivedosagerange;4.4.3Toestablishtherangeofeffectivenessonseveralmosquitogeneraandspeciesinanumberofgeographicalareas;and4.4.4Toidentifythematerialintermsofodor,stainingcapability,plasticizingeffect,andoilinessorgreasiness.Norepellentshouldbetestedonhumanswithoutthewrittenconsentofthetestvolunteers(hereafterreferredtoastestsubjects)andpriorapprovalofcompetentauthority,asdesignatedinapplicablelawsandregulationsgoverningexperimentationonhumans.1.1Thistestmethodisusedtoevaluatetherepellencyofpromisingcompoundsthathaveundergoneprimarylaboratorystudiesandhavebeenapprovedforskinapplicationforsecondarytesting.1.2Thistestmethodisdesignedforthestudyofmosquitorepellents,butwithsomemodificationsthistestmethodcanbeusedtodeterminetherepellencyofcandidatecompoundsforotherflyinginsectsthatattackhumans.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
